I first joined Coalville Drama Group as an enthusiastic teenager in 2002 for Dick Barton: Special Agent, after being invited by Ian Pratley, with whom I'd just performed in CAOS's 2002 production of Oliver!. From there, I went on to work with many of the Loughborough musical groups, taking on both lead and chorus roles. However, after some difficult experiences, I became disillusioned with the theatre world and, in 2015, decided to step away, vowing never to return.

Then in 2019, I learned that CAOS was staging its centenary performance of Hello, Dolly!, inviting former members back to join the cast. Hello, Dolly! held a special place in my heart, as I'd played Barnaby Tucker in LAOS's 2003 production. With a little encouragement from my mother and sister (who were also involved in the show), I decided to audition and was thrilled to be cast once again as Barnaby Tucker.

In this production, I was fortunate to work alongside Jake Gillespie. We developed a great rapport on stage and became good friends. After the show, Tracy Quigley approached us about joining her production of The Thirty-Nine Steps, and both of us humorously responded, “I’ll do it if he does it!” This led to my return to Coalville Drama Group after a 17-year absence and my broken vow not to return to performing—but I'm glad I did!

Since then, I've been actively involved with CDG, joining the Committee as the website and graphics lead (and all-around tech enthusiast). I’ve also become a Trustee for the Adult School Hall. Truly, I’ve never been happier to be in the world of theatre.
